DappRadar doesn't does look at past sales or floor prices to determine the value of an NFT. At the core of DappRadar's NFT valuation tools, you will find the NFT Value Estimator. Here users can find the prices of individual NFTs from high profile NFT collections, measured against past sales with the help of machine learning.
The DappRadar NFT Value Estimator looks at past sales and compares the metadata of all the assets in a certain collection to calculate the most likely value of an NFT. Furthermore, our machine learning algorithm learns from every following sale. It checks whether its prediction was correct and adjust its calculations if it was too far off.
Right now the NFT Value Estimator calculates the value of hundreds of thousands of NFTs across dozens collections. Users can discover the pricing of individual assets through the NFT Value Estimator, but can also find these prices through the Portfolio. We continuously put time and effort in enriching our NFT Value Estimator with new collections and new data, as we create the most accurate price prediction tool on the market.
Please note, the NFT Value Estimator doesn't do any speculation, but bases its calculations on actual sales. It then compares the metadata of the individual sales to discover which attributes make a particular NFT stand out in price. The more trading takes place in an individual NFT collection, the better the NFT Value Estimator can do its job.
Take a look in the portfolio of Paris Hilton (parishilton.eth). She holds a wide variety of NFTs in her wallet. Among those also some valuable, high-profile NFTs. In the portfolio you will see that the DappRadar gives you a price for each of the NFTs.
However, there are three different price estimations:
Last sale price - the price last paid for the specific NFT. This would be the least accurate value estimation.
Floor price - for the floor price the system looks at the cheapest NFT sold in a collection over a period of time. These means that the most and least rare NFTs in a collection get the same price estimate. This is what most other NFT websites use, combined with the last sale price.
Estimated price - far more intelligent is the estimated price, a price calculated based on actual sales and NFT metadata. You can see the estimated price of an NFT in your Portfolio and in the NFT Explorer page.
